Prayer for Health is one of the most popular requests that Christians make to the Lord each day. It has been around since ancient times and is still used today. It is a request made to receive specific care and assistance in the event of an illness, accident or injury of some sort. The object of the request is to ask God for His help. Sometimes this type of prayer for health is also made specifically to thank the Lord for whatever He has done for you and/or the special person in your life.

There are many reasons that Christians ask God for good health. One is to allow God to help them accomplish something that they otherwise might not have been able to do on their own. Paul, in Romans 12th chapter, write that god is greater than a sick person because he knows that no sickness can rise up against God. He knows that even the dead do not suffer but God. He is therefore able to raise the dead to life again. This again gives the strong conviction that prayer for healing has to begin with a strong resolve to do what God says in the scriptures concerning healing.

It is said that when a person gets a broken heart he should go and pray to the Lord about it. This is almost like a ritual to which we commit and sometimes it can be too difficult to keep to this routine. Some would liken prayer for the broken heart to living a life without respect, integrity, honesty, dedication, hope and confidence.

It is from this context that we should understand that prayer for the Lord is not about the things that we want to gain but the things which he can give us. Jesus said that we should ask of him only those things which we need and which belong to our necessities. He has promised to give us strength, peace, and favor - these are things which we ourselves cannot always provide. In these circumstances it is God's will that we have these things so that we can impart them to others. This is why we pray.

The second reason why we should pray for healing is that he is able to bring this gift to us if we ask him. He does not just send them out to people who already need them. He also says that he will send them to those who will pray earnestly for them. This means that we can have miraculous healing because we are asking him for it. This is one reason why we have to make sure that we are always ready to give Him the first offer of prayer - make sure that you put your whole heart and soul into asking for healing.

The third reason to petition God for healing is that we have to keep in mind that he gives health not always to those who ask him but also to those who do not ask him. We are to remind ourselves that if we do not keep up the proper prayers that we have to give, then he mightn't show us his mercy. He might refuse to show mercy on us. This is why it is important to always be thankful whenever we receive anything from the heavenly father. Our daily lives will be more prosperous if we continue to give our thanks to him.

The fourth reason to ask for prayer for health is that we must learn to forgive those who we have offended. If we only remember the events that occurred and leave out the fact that we offended them, then we cannot fully forgive them. We have to remember to forgive them if we want to get healed. If we keep on focusing on the events that led to the sickness and then the illness, then it will be very difficult for us to forgive and be healthy again.
